Sebastian's Ice Cream finally in Makati!

Finally! Sebastian's Cookie Dough Chilly Burger in my hand!! Bought this at The Market in Tiffany building along Leviste st., Salcedo Village, Makati. Got it for P130 which I can hardly finish because it's so big! Shared it with a friend. Dive bars also available. :)

Pan De Leche

Pan de sal and Leche flan for an afternoon snack. Why not?!

Mochi. Vanilla Ice Cream. Simple.

In this time that mochi balls are everywhere, I found this pack at Yamazaki Grocery in Makati. What differs this one from the others is that, its mochi wrapper is so thin you don't have to wait for 5-10mins for it to thaw. Which I think is a good thing. Waiting for a mochi ball to thaw is kinda anti-climactic for me, if you know what I mean. P85 for a pack of 2. Nomnomnom.

Spring Time

Noodles and dumplings will always be considered as delightful treats. In the busy city of Makati, along the street of Benavidez, I discovered this small but interesting restaurant called Spring by Ha Yuan. It has a bright interior (which doesn't show on my photos much because I was with my trusty iPad #explain) and the fact that you can see their "taho and lumpia bar" gives them a plus. It's actually appetizing to look at.

 

We started our dinner with a plate of Poached Shrimp and Spinach Dumplings. These were generously stuffed and each dumpling is big too. A plate of 5pcs costs P90.

 

The next we had was their specialty called Maki Mi. It's a noodle dish with lots of tender pork loin in thick soy broth. Thumbs up for the noodles but the broth is too thick for me. I prefer eating this with chili sauce. It's very filling and this bowl, for P140, is good enough to share.

 

I always end my dinner with a nice dessert and this Piggy Red Bean Pao is really nice to look at. Too cute to murder but I ate its nose first anyway. P40 each. I bet kids and the kids at heart will love this.

 

It's a nice place to dine since it kinda takes you away from crowd of the mall. Eat well people!

RAMen Cravings

Ramen is one those food that perfectly matches a rainy weather, and right at this very moment, I'm craving for it.

I had this bowl from Kojiro when I went out of town to visit my folks one weekend. It's a small food stop along the small street of B. Reyes in Silang, Cavite. I wish I had a photo of their facade. Anyway, I think it's one of the better ramens that I've had so far. And for the unbelievably jaw-dropping price of P70, it's a must-try!

I also remember them selling these Korokes. I first tried them four years ago and from then, they've become a fave of mine. Yummy ones. Must have them again but since it's all ready half past 3 in the morning. I'll just try to think of them tomorrow.

I left my heart down south, Bai!

 

It's been a while since I last posted something here, and since there's a goody good blog app available for iPad (and i'm paying for this domain anyway) -- why not use it again.

Anyway, the past vacation that I had was in Cebu and Dumaguete. On a Friday rush hour in the afternoon, we flew from Manila and bid our offices goodbye. It's a long overdue, and I must say that it's a well deserved vacation too. Got in Cebu around 9:30pm and I was so giddy meeting up our friends there to have dinner. A lovely dinner indeed.

The next day, we headed to Dumaguete to meet a friend's family. Staying at this fancy hotel called, Florentina Homes, I was in awe. A perfect place to date too, since Gabby's Bistro has a really nice cozy ambience.

During dinner, I had the best Sizzling Bulalo ( I think they call it Pochero in the Visayas) that I had in my life! This one's from Royal Suites Inn. I had the best Quadruple Chocolate Cake here too but unfortunately, I already finished it even before I can take a photo of it. Sorry.

The next day, we headed to Sans Rival Bistro to try their Mock Fillet Mignon, their famous Sans Rival and get some Silvanas for pasalubong to a good friend in Cebu, and as obvious as it gets -- all we did in Dumaguete was to eat, then sleep, then eat again, take a nap, drink, sleep and eat again. Can't help it. You can't blame us either.

Headed back to Cebu in the evening, had lechon for dinner and had a night cap before hitting the sack. My flight to Manila, is at lunch, so I had to wake up pretty early to roam around Cebu for a while and to have breakfast with a good friend. At lunch, I was dropped off at the airport and I was having separation anxiety while checking in. I wish I should've stayed for another day, at least in Cebu. It was indeed a good vacation. I can't wait to go back. I left my heart down south.

I bought this giant spam sushi from Musubi Shack because I think it's cute! Haha Anyway, nothing special on its taste though. But it's cute. :) Look for its stall at Food Choices, Alabang Town Center.

On a Stormy Saturday Afty

Saturday. I went out with my college pals for a good hangout. Though Alabang is in Signal no.1, we still pushed through with our plans. Anyway, after grabbing lunch at Tempura, we decided to spend our spare time at Timezone! Woopee! A chill kwentuhan was spent at Starbucks (grande strawberries and cream frap and belgian waffle for me!!!), til that day turns to night. Great old pals. Great old company.

 

Sinful Macarons

I got these macarons from Sinfully by Makati Shangri-La located at the 2nd floor of Greenbelt 5. These are the best macarons that I've tried so far. Purchased it for the introductory price of P275 for a box of 6. Sinfully. I'm in love.

Crème Brûlée ala Kenny’s

My friends and I went to Resort’s World last night. And just before going home I decided to get myself some snack and then I saw the flashing sign of Kenny Roger’s Roasters of the Newport City. I had my dinner first but what catch my eyes was, they are now serving creme brulee and panna cotta. I’m not a fan of mangoes so i did go for the creme brulee. For Php50 it’s actually not bad! And since I have my new trusty iPhone with me, I thought of putting its camera to the food spotting test! and here’s my creme brulee!

I received a gift from a friend last night and I thought it was something from a high-end store! With its box design, who would have thought that what’s inside is something edible. For the packaging, I’ll give this business a high-five!

Wee Nam Kee

My schedules for the past week had been really cuhrrrrrazy! Juggling a day job, a business and sidelines is tougher than I thought! And I’m pretty much happy that I got to escape one night with my friends to have a nice dinner!

I’ve been hearing a lot about how great Wee Nam Kee’s chicken rice is so we decided to treat ourselves there. There was a line outside and we pretty much waited around 30minutes for us to be seated. Don’t worry pals, it’s worth the wait.

A friend recommended us to get Wee Nam Kee’s Steamed or the Roasted chicken. Anyway to avoid confusion on what to eat, we ordered both steamed and roasted chickens! Yum!



 

These are both delicious dishes but I personally like the steamed chicken better. It goes well with the mixture of soy sauce and pounded ginger.  I was a little hesitant eating the steamed chicken at first but surprisingly, it’s very tender and flavorful! I’m not surprised why this gets a 2-thumbs up recommendation from friends.

 

Each table has its own tray of condiments. You can either choose to eat your wonderful dishes with soy sauce, pounded ginger or chili or have your own mixture according to your taste buds’ preferences.



We also ordered WNK’s pork chop. Breaded pork slices with a sweet and sour sauce on top.

  

Your whole WNK experience will not be complete if you don’t order their chicken rice! I like this so much! I had 2 cups! So yeah this is a good choice pairing it with their gorgeous dishes.

So there you go! After taking photos of yourselves and your loved ones in the beautiful Ayala Triangle in Makati, you might wanna try Wee Nam Kee.

I started doing our business, Liquore, sometime this year and one of the hardest material to find and decide on is the packaging. I had called friends and suppliers around the Metro that I learned that for custom made boxes, a minimum of 1000pcs – 3000pcs is required. Cerealicious Café

I was grateful to be invited to the grand opening of the Cerealicious Café in Megamall last Saturday! I am overly excited to come then because I’ve been a fan of Cerealicious bowls for over 2 years now. Introduced by my officemate, Khris, it became a regular treat for us to drop by Cerealicious Greenhills every time that we’re gonna have lunch there.

Started their humble beginnings in 2005, a group of 5 friends thought of serving cereals in a brand new way. And from there, the first cereal bar opened in the University of Santo Tomas in January 2006.

What caught my attention when I first visited Cerealicious was their menu. They serve from Pirates of the Cadbury-ean to Jelly Maguire to the Banana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Like c’mon! Who would not want to try cereal bowls with the coolest names ever? And if they are familiar to your ears, this is because these titles came from blockbuster movies that you watched. Awesome right? You can get a small “Trailer” bowl for Php60 or the big “Blockbuster” bowl for Php120.

I was so glad when I saw in their facebook page that they opened a café and that they are now serving sandwiches, pasta, entrées, salads and a lot more. Take note – everything has cereals on it!

Crissy Balatbat, my goodie good friend from Cerealicious made me try 2 of their entrées. So diggin’ starts now!

First, the Bubba Shrimps – Php185

Southern style shrimps served with their special Gambas Paprika sauce. This is served with herbed rice too! This is heaven. Crissy was in front of me when this vanished into thin air! Haha. I like their sauce. It brings a taste of Mexico to my senses. And i love it that the shrimps are very easy to eat. So if you guys are planning to try something new at Cerealicious Café, you have my recommendation on this!

Second is the Creamy Chicken Casserole – Php145
 
Look! Rice Crispies on top! Sweet!
It’s a new way on how to enjoy your favorite chicken vegetable dish. I like it that it has cubes of cheese which makes it creamier. Served with herbed rice as well. The rice crispies adds texture to the dish. A crunch -- which makes it more interesting. Not too salty, it’s just perfect. Heavy too! So this delightful entrée can be shared by two.

After I’m done eating my entrées, of course, I will not leave until I get what I loved first on them. A cereal bowl! Woooooh!

A Blockbuster Bowl of my favorite Hurt Loacker! Everyone should try this! Seriously! I mean it! This bowl has Milo Balls, Loacker Choco Wafers and M&Ms! Tempting huh? What makes a bowl of Cerealicious more special is their “Snow Milk”. If you pour milk on your cereals at home, Cerealicious has their Snow Milk at the bottom of every bowl. It’s like ice cream slash snow cone slash frozen milk. What’s in it is their secret of course but whatever this Snow Milk has, its for the win!

Cerealicious Café is a place for the whole family! Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this place as I did and have fun diggin’ on those cereal bowls and come back again again and again.
