Fish Tale

I was asked by my super duper close friend, Nikka a.k.a. Fishdaa to do a logo for her. The logo will be used for her blogsite. Her preference? A Simple fish drawing. Actually, making this logo is harder that I thought haha. Well not the process of making it but it’s the concept of simplicity that makes it hard. Sometimes, the simplest concepts are just the hardest. But frankly, I find this fish really cute hihihi. Conceited may it seems, but yeah it is. Enjoy this Niks! :)

Wacomology

I promised myself that I should work on my drawing sh*t. So from the day that I learned the art of Wacom, I made a commitment that I should at least draw one artwork per day. I think this will boost the flow of the creative juice in my head, and practice makes perfect. LOL. I may not be the best illustrator out there, but someday I will be able to draw something worth-nailing on my wall.

Oh Corel Corel!

Today, I met a new friend. Corel Painter 11. This is my first time to use it. I decided to have it installed in my computer since I’ve been practicing on freehand illustrations lately. On this, uhm, artwork, yeah artwork! haha. I used the charcoal brush all through out. Kinda blurry. I know. Oh well, looks like I’ll be facing a new challenge from now on. And I say, bring it on! :)

Doodling Doodly Do!

I’m starting to learn the art of freehand drawing. It’s kinda difficult when you think about it but what makes it easy is that your way of thinking that doodling is fun. My friend, Humphrey told me that in drawing or painting or whatever, draw what you see. Start from there. I acknowledge all the criticisms that will be thrown to me, but again, this is art. Well for me it is. And again, constructive criticism has no space in this blog. :) I might use some to improve on whatever I had started, just that.

Doodling is fun! I got the idea of this artwork from a friend’s twitter username! haha I bet when you read this, you’ll know who you are… and yes you’ve been an inspiration to me all these years. :) This is for you! I’ll have this framed if ever you’ll like it haha :D

Reading an article online a few weeks back, I ran through a statement of a character —
“I am an artist. I do not believe in constructive criticism.”

I am an artist. I have the same principle. As a very good friend of mine says, that a work of an artist will always be subjective. It will always have an abstract meaning to whoever is looking at a canvass. A piece of art. Criticisms will always be welcomed if asked, but otherwise you cannot bend an artist’ perspective on how to express his emotions. Everyone is an artist. Profound or shallow, how weird or intellectually executed his works maybe. But an artist will always know that everything is worth calling a masterpiece.
